#CARST2018 Speaker Feature: Dr. Leslie C. Sutherland

26 Feb 2018 3:04 PM | Erin Curry (Administrator)

Dr. Leslie Sutherland is a molecular and cellular biologist whose work focuses on the regulation of gene expression, particularly as it relates to cancer.  Her recent study compares the early gene expression changes caused by low doses of radon to those associated with tobacco smoke on human lung epithelial cells.

Interestingly, the study found that low doses of radon did significantly impact gene expression in human lung cells; and that altered gene expression changes were observed after only one week of exposure!

Join Dr. Sutherland as she presents on this fascinating research at our 2018 CARST Conference!
